1 Liner Wednesday: Really Short Story

“They’re killing me at the office,” my sister said, “I go in early, I stay late, I take work home with me.”

“They’re paying you &57,000 a year,” I said, “did you think you’d sit with your feet up for that money?”

“And then there’s this,” she waved her company-issued cell phone at me, “I have to answer work e-mails on weekends, on holidays.”

“Yup,” I nodded, “they bought you for $57,000 a year.”
