Love yourself challenge

Day 13–Copy a short poem that has meaning to you into your journal.

I’m never going to be famous.  My name will never be writ large on the roster of Those Who Do Things.  I don’t do anything.  Not one single thing.  I bite my nails, but I don’t even do that anymore.

Dorothy Parker, Here Lies (1939) “The Little Hours”

Like the speaker of the poem, I won’t be famous (not like a politician or a Kardashian or a sports star is famous).  But my niece and nephew smile at me like I’m the whole world, I have real friends who like me for me, I know who I am and I’m OK with that.  I don’t need to see my name Writ on the List of Those Who Do Things to know I matter.
